Yes, Klaus, it was a cookie problem, I'm used to put them off whenever one comes along! Strangely though, today it works...

Anyway, I was in Karlsruhe yesterday, had no problem to find the venue as "Schwarzwaldstr." was the first street I came across when I arrived in KA. Venue looked very punky, with lots of graffiti across the house, but still a very impressive building! At first I thought it was going to be a "Gary Gilmore" night (when punks want to hear nothing else but this song), but in fact it turned out to be a brilliant gig!! The crowd was very loud, only downer was the fact that some were talking inbetween songs instead of listening to what TV said about his songs... But nevermind, it was great. Support band "Teenkrieg" did an excellent job playing with TV on some songs (Only One Flavour, My String Will Snap, GGE and more), especially when you consider it was their first time ever on stage together with TV! (I guess they practised the songs weeks before!) Obviously TV enjoyed this one, with girls dancing down the front of the stage and lots of cheering and shouting...
I will try to knock up a full review soon!

Don't know when TV will start tonight (hopefully sooner than yesterday, it was close to 12pm), but I guess if Marcus turns up at about 9 pm he won't miss anything...
Just around the corner and miles away...

Hi Uli,

great to hear something from the tour. :D
Review would be excellent.

Cookies etc:
I know, sometimes strange things happen on the forum. :o
We are going to move to another server, soon.
Will be interesting to find out, if the behaviour of the board concerning log-ins etc. stays the same.

Have a lot of fun tonight and greetings to TV!

I won't go tonight, Frankfurt is a bit too far. But I hope for another good gig in Stuttgart tomorrow. Might be tired on Sunday, so I just don't know if I'll make it to Munich...

Tour report number 2
« Reply #33 on: May 05, 2002, 10:27:11 AM »
Stuttgart went much better than expected!!!
Viola just started her drive home about an hour ago, I planned to go to sleep again, but I couldn't, I was too enthusiastic about last night! I just took my CD's and noted down all the songs TV played yesterday plus the new songs I remembered - I counted 39!!! TV said after the gig it was 40+ (he thought he forgot one or two), so he broke his record! Unbelievably, two and a half hours playing time...
At first TV thought it could turn into a cold atmosphere in this big club with not too many people turning up, but in the end it was an intimate warm atmosphere anyway and he enjoyed it (obviously). He played many rare songs (We who wait, Television's over) including some I'd never heard live before, JS wished for Straight and narrow, which he played promptly, I really enjoyed it, as well as Can't Pay Won't Pay.
We had a bit of a fan meeting with Viola, JS, Rene and Marianne being there. In fact it was also the first "official" meeting of the Smith fanclub whose "members" are all called Schmid (well, only Jessica and me till now). A big THANK YOU to my friends who were wise enough to turn up, Wolfgang and Michael (of The Nerves) and also to those from the Karlsruhe gig who came down! I feel very sorry for those I sent e-mails to about the gig, but did NOT appear (they should do all it takes to f...in' WAKE UP)!

Hi Uli,

another good news from the tour.
Actually haven't heard anything bad, yet. :D

Currently getting worried, I am missing a lot of great gigs. :|
Hope TV's not exhausted next week. He seems to be doing a lot of marathon gigs, these days.

Mor-gähn Uli, so früh schon wach?

Yeah, it was a great gig last night and I really enjoyed it, especially  the rare songs TV was playing. So nice he did Straight and Narrow, which ranks among my favourites since I heard it on BBC.
I also enjoyed our "fan-meeting". Maybe we can repeat it one day...
I did some short videos with my camera yesterday. TVs Punk Rock Poem and Gary Gilmore´s Eyes. The quality might be poor, but maybe Klaus wants to put it on the site anyway?

Gotta go
JS

Uli: You could send me your list, maybe I´ll remember some more songs...

Ja, JS, ich war so früh wach weil Viola zeitig fahren wollte! Außerdem bin ich so aufgedreht wegen dem genialen Gig, dass ich gar nicht mehr schlafen könnte... Aber ich versuch's nachher!

Ok, back to English now: my setlist is now up to 40 songs, as I realised I'd forgotten "The Servant"! I'll send you the list JS, as I can't think of any more right now.
It was so nice to meet you, I really liked to talk to you, I'm already looking forward to the next meeting!

Good to hear you enjoy my little tour reports, Klaus. I just finished off my Karlsruhe review and sent you the mail - I'm so fired up today I just couldn't stop writing... Great fun, hope you like it.

Hey, great to see it's already online. Things are moving pretty fast on the TV website nowadays! Will try to write another one about Stuttgart, but it will take me a bit longer, I guess.

Sorry, this time I'm not as fast anymore as on Sunday, I was really worn out and tired on Monday... I'll try to finish it as soon as possible! (Hopefully today or tomorrow.)
Klaus, I told your greetings to TV in Stuttgart, but I guess you will see him soon anyway.

Praise from TJ, the most professional reviewer here, this makes me proud - thanks TJ!
Btw, anonymous (?), I wrote runaway RAIN driver (because it rained all day), it was not a typing mistake.
I'm looking forward to see the videos and photos by JS online! Will be good company to my review.  :)
