Just back from Sri Lanka.

"Sing you bugger, Sing!"

Here's an important question for all supporters and fans of TV Smith...

How can we best help TV?

At the recent Fulford Arms concert in York, Craig Casson was talking to me about how sad it is that he doesn't get to see as many live TV shows as he used to (now that he's so busy bring the drummer for both The Lurkers and 1977). He felt he was letting TV down by not arranging live shows for him like he used to.

I could really relate to what he was saying as I felt the same. (Although I'm busy performance coaching rather than drumming. ;) )

I had a chat about this with TV. He pointed out that if it wasn't for people in the past like Dave Thompson, Craig Casson, Klaus, C5, Fleagle and an army of TUTS (like Alan and Gabumon posting live songs on YouTube), Jamie Palmer and myself etc, etc helping TV he wouldn't be where he is now.

This got me thinking about other ways that TV's growing legion of fans can best help him.

Later on I was telling TV how grateful the author Steve Chandler was for the 5 star book reviews I'd written for him on Amazon ( & .com). TV wasn't at all surprised and went on to passionately share with me what a massive impact those positive Amazon reviews had on an author, singer-songwriter etc. We also spoke about how powerful e-mailing radio and TV shows (like Later) are.

I made a pledge to myself to write a 5 star review for all TV's albums on Amazon. (I'm still waiting for his first 4 star CD. ;) )

I realised that I don't have to write war and peace just something powerfully short and simple that helps people to check out TV. (Klaus calls this The Easy Way.)

Of course C5 was always doing things like this.

Let's be totally honest, Coming into Land deserved to be heard. It should have sold thousands of copies. It hasn't. Why? Because people don't know about it and because they haven't heard it. TV is a one man band with very little free time, so he needs all the help that he can get. I also fly solo and I know how important help is (several TUTS have helped me to grow my business - thank you).

We are legion. We are many. TV's true fan base is growing with each gig (yes even on Facebook).

I'm making an agreement with myself (and anyone who is reading this) to do my part.

"You get your miracle for just daring to ask?"

So I'm asking...

What can you do?

What are you actually going to do?

Can anyone think of any other ways that we can help TV?

Every little knock against the big door counts. Thank you for giving.

Thanks to Uli and Fred and all the other TUTS for keeping this forum Carrying On.

Thanks for 37 years of pleasure and inspiration Teev.

I know from our chat how much you appreciate all the help you receive.

TV Chat / TV Smith New Church Shock! I Ain't Coming Save Yourself
« on: February 08, 2014, 06:20:44 PM »
So there I was on Thursday 6th evening with the MD of my latest customer and two of my recent coachees (who are both Pub Managers  :o ) in a new Leeds bar opposite the market. When suddenly this bloke starts interviewing someone. The whole room went deathly quite. There was even someone officially filming the interview. Then I noticed all the huge photographs around the room (including one of Ronald Reagan). Almost everyone was transfixed in total admiration.

I was more excited about the Magic Rock High Wire NZ on tap.

I leant over to Matt the Pub Manager and whispered "mind you I'd be transfixed like these if he was interviewing my favourite singer-songwriter; TV Smith". As soon as I turned back round to face the show the interviewer asked him which band he had been in...

You could have knocked me over with a feather.

Here's a bit of fun inspired by the We Who Wait documentary.

I've not heard of TV being called a Messenger before, but that's also a word that works for me. 8)

As I play through TV's entire legendary career I'm reading Your Ticket Out Of Here to match and watching We Who Wait.

I'm at the point in Dave Thompson's  where TV has had his first ever solo gig. TV was inspired and encouraged by Attila to perform this life changing first show that led him to find his destiny.) It was a few months before the final Cheap gig.

What I liked was realising that Teev has recorded two of the songs from that first gig (he played just 5 songs) on the new acoustic album. That feels right to me. :D

Or have I just forgotten how to use it?

TV Chat / TV Reviews on Amazon

Just read all the TV reviews on Amazon.

Really connected to all that positive energy about The Great Man.

Dave Allen was particularly inspired.

Just one pants review from someone who thought Gaye Advert was a vocalist so not one to take too seriously.

TV Songs / What Songs Would You Like To Hear On Future Acoustic Albums?

What songs would you like to see on future acoustic albums?

The Lord's Prayer, New Church, The Good Times Are Back, In The Arms Of My Enemy and Coming Into Land all have to be in the running. What else would you like to hear on free acoustic albums?

Thought I' d start a new post as a few people have mentioned this.

From what I overheard at the merch stand TV is trying out the songs for his next album live, rather than in the recording studio at the moment.

Does anyone have a full list of all the new songs?

Be good to pick up some of the ones that slipped away too like Fix It and Wake Up.

Great to see such a posiTV reaction to TV's songs and merch stand these days.

The merch stand was so coverred it was hard to get through to say goodbye.

Heard TV talking to a fan about his next album. Sounds like he's focused on playing it live at the moment.

Looking forward to it though. :D
