Someone told me there's a new cover of GGE by The Meteors:

Different. Not terrible.
But I still think this is the best cover of the song....

Pensioner TV. Isn't that Cheap-er?  ;)

Technically pension age is 66 now, according to the application form for a free bus pass in Kent...  Pah.

Up the Wall.

Mine is technically 67.
But I 'retired' in 2006.

Happy Birthday Tim.

Certainly plenty of rarities played last night.  I picked up 7 that I had not heard live before.

And he's doing the whole thing again tonight.
Same set list....but with better sound.

14,149 for bog-standard telecaster with Joe's name on it???!!!

You can buy a miniature copy for 30 and strap it to an Action Man.
I know which one I'd go for....  ;D

I've been watching various Marvel/DC superhero things.
Xa has always said she didn't like those kinds of superhero/comic type things. She just didn't 'get' them. But I've been into them since about 1970.

Then she saw 'Deadpool' and 'Deadpool 2' and loved them. I had to explain what 'meta' was in terms of 'self-referential' fiction.

Then I got her to watch 'Misfits' and pointed out that it's pretty much the same as Marvel only low-budget and British and she's loving that.

Now I'm having to explain everything from the origin of Batman to what's happened to Captain America and why isn't he in 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier'.

I'm sure some of you are as in the dark as she is.

But I'm just happy we can watch things together.

...and I've never heard that Paul and Steve have fallen out.

Mind you, if it's in 'The Sun', it must be true!

Well they were o.k. when Steve recorded guest guitar on 'What In The World' in 2017 and gave his blessing to the new line-up of The Professionals.
And when Paul Cook was on Jonesy's Jukebox in 2018. And 2019. And 2020.....

 ;D

All of the 'Ultravox! Live at The Rainbow 1977' tracks are now available:

No physical release on vinyl or CD but I've downloaded it from Amazon and made my own.
I already had the gig on an old cassette which I digitized but the sound was appalling.

I think it was inevitable.

Even if the doubtful 'roadmap' was accurate there'd still be only a couple of weeks between end of lockdown and the gig in which time the venue has to work out what restrictions are still in place, social distancing, seat spacing and mask enforcement.

I'm happy to wait until February and be double sure Covid has (mostly) fucked off.
