Sad news from The Valentines:
Quote
Today is the saddest day of our history: our beloved and beautiful Vale has lost her long battle with cancer.
After her extraordinary performance at Covo Club Saturday March 1st (ironically the very same day when we formed in 2000) her conditions have worsened until the epilogue of yesterday night.
We will remember her incredible strength until the last minute, we will remember her beauty on stage, we will remember every fabolous moment lived together, first of all the emotion to get to New York and be aware to be the first band from Bologna to play in the Big Apple.
Obviously the story of The Valentines ends here.
The biggest hug to her mother, her father and Alle her longtime boyfriend.
We thank to everybody who ever came to one of our shows, everybody who booked a gig, everybody who bought a record, everybody who simply gave us a smile.
Very special thanks to: Dario Emari, Rick Blaze (r.i.p), Daniel Rey, Fab Valentine, Robby Valentine, TV Smith and Marco Balestrino.
It's been great. It's been worth it.
Bye!
Mars, Matt & JJ

I'm very sorry to hear this awful news.

I was very glad to have seen them due to the TV connection. My thoughts are with the guys and Vale's family and friends.

Very shocked to hear this. I met him at a Stones gig in 1982 before he was really famous (The "Kevin Turvey" days) and he was a lovely, funny guy to have a chat with.

He did some great stuff and will be much missed.

That made me cry Fred.

I've had a pretty shit day, as three things have gone wrong, and then you hear and read that Rik has past away. For me he was the TV Smith meets Richard Strange of comedy.

From Turvey to THE Young one to Flash, Rik will live within forever.

One of my childhood favourites.
Frances Matthews was also in some Hammer Films I liked and I remember watching the 'Paul Temple' series as well.
