Well he was lucky and it fell into his hands... but I would agree he did well in negotiating the thing with (and winning the trust of) Gorbatschov, Thatcher and Bush (among others).
(The term "architect" to me makes it sound like he planned it, which he did not.)

Will he make a comeback?

He was co-writing and co-producing the next film, 'Road Of The Dead', which was in production.
I can only hope they finish it and have a 'tribute' zombie wearing those massive glasses of his.

Best message I've seen today...

''Happy Birthday Romero Zombie''....

https://ww2.kqed.org/arts/2017/07/17/tuxedomoons-peter-principle-dachert-63-dies-unexpectedly/

Quote
Peter “Principle” Dachert, longtime bassist and songwriter for experimental post-punk band Tuxedomoon, was found dead Monday morning of natural causes, according to his bandmates. He was 63.

“It is my very sad duty to inform the world that our colleague and brother, Peter Principle has left this world behind,” Tuxedomoon founder Blaine L. Reininger wrote on his Facebook page. “We are all stunned.”
