Is all this football betting why you are an ex-referee?  ;)

Just asking!  :)

No the "ex-referee" is because of my heart attack in 2000 (jeez 21 years ago!), a friend of mine owns half-a-leg of a horse (Sir Busker.. in case you wonder - next out July 30th!).  Mr Hill certainly does not make any money out of my dabbles...  £10 max, once every couple of months.. and the footy tournaments once every 2 years.

Many thanks for clearing that up Phil.

I asked as I recently re-watched this shocking exposť of corruption in football refereeing:

and also listened to this follow-up documentary:

And Mr Hill says thanks Phil.

Better luck in November next year (STILL can't believe it's there and then!).

Everyone ready for the big match this weekend?

Dumbarton vs St Mirren in the League Cup - they don't come much bigger than that!

Seriously,

GOOD LUCK ENGLAND!

As you know I do not follow football or any other sport.
However, I really hope England win on Sunday.
Because there's enough gloomy faces about without adding a lot more.  ;D

According to many fan forums that i am on the answer is No.  Many of the "plastic supporters" (i.e. those who watch Wales on the TV, or those who have jumped on the bandwagon in the last 5 years) are, but those who have followed since the dim dark days of Gould are not.

As for me...  I am not supporting either..  I have been spat on at games at Wembley, had piss and other bodily fluids chucked over me at the San Siro in Milan.  I do though like Southgate, maybe because he is ex -Palace and I was on a quiz team with him once.

Italy will be a tough team to beat, but if Sterling heads the words of his coach (Tom Daley), then England could win it..
Can I un-cross my fingers now (feignites, feignites)...

Having seen some of the news footage from Leicester Square and other places I have to say my sympathies or with the NHS staff that have to work in A&E tonight...
