Thanks. Just listening to the new Blondie cd "panic of girls" (found it comes with the new Rolling Stone, german edition).  :)
It's okay, keyboard sound is a bit annoying at times (and not played by Jimmy Destri anymore...).

Sadly, I heard it was the other way round... kicked the drugs, went into rehab and when he came back he found he was sacked...  :(

Debbie and Chris were on TV a couple of weeks ago and said that he was having his "old problem" again, so I guess they meant that he'd slipped back onto them.

Yeah well, it's not impossible. Guess it wasn't the reason for his sacking anyway. (To me it seems he never really got fired anyway, he just stepped back from touring to go into rehab, wanted to continue writing songs for them, but never was called to get back into the band, seems like it just fizzled out...)
Wiki knows this: "Destri remained with the reunited Blondie through 2004. At that time, he retired from live performances with the band, though he intended to keep working with them in the studio."

I went to see Sylvain Sylvain of the New York Dolls do his solo songs and stories show last night. He's quite the showman and it's well worth catching if you like the Dolls or are interested in the history of punk. I had a chat with him before the gig and thought that he was a lovely guy. He confirmed this when the guitarist from the support band asked if he could play "Jet Boy" with him and they played it right there in the corridor. They went on to jam on some Eddie Cochran - and Syl got him up for a few songs during the show.

Another nice touch was that he unplugged his guitar at the end and went round every person in the crowd to serenade them personally. Never seen that before and it was much appreciated.

Anyway, the reason I've stuck this here is that he clearly has several, ahem, "gentleman's fantasies" about Debbie Harry. Eventually, he asked if us if we wanted to hear about the time that he'd actually had sex with Blondie.

"They were great - just a shame Debbie wasn't there!"  ;)
